In 2021, The Webber/Smith Group came to Coward Environmental Systems, Inc. (CESI) to provide a custom DX rooftop air handling unit (AHU.) This unit was designed to meet the specific needs of an organic and all-natural brand’s food processing plant in Maryland. The owner required main heat using natural gas with emergency backup electrical heat. Cooling was provided with multistage DX. The process also required two modes of operation, process, and washdown, which meant two very different loads.
CESI delivered a customized Air Wise AHU that incorporated the custom configurations, components, and materials needed to meet the specifications submitted by Webber/Smith Group.
